House Education Committee

In February, a representative from the Arizona House of Representatives Education Committee reached out to our district regarding the success of SJUSD and invited our superintendent to join the AZ House of Representatives Education Committee meeting last week to share a little about our schools' success. Some of the things that stood out to the state regarding SJUSD were the following.

--Both of our schools received an "A" rating
--Our proficiency scores across the district were exceptionally high
--We serve a population with a higher poverty rate and a large special education population
--The district's success in pursuing and obtaining the Final Mile Grant that brought in Triad Wireless, a high-speed internet option for residents of St. Johns

Below is a link to the video of the formal meeting where they recognized our district's accomplishments while in committee and then asked Superintendent Patterson to summarize in two minutes what makes our schools successful (how do you summarize the success of schools in just two minutes?). The clip of the formal recognition is just in the first 4 minutes of the video.

We are very proud of our teachers, principals, and staff members and all they do to help students be successful.
