What should I do if my child is absent?
Call the school office at (928) 337-2221 or email Mrs. Susan Smith at ssmith@staff.sjusd.net as soon as you know your student will be absent.

Please give your child’s name and reason for the absence. Communication through PowerSchool will be sent out Monday - Thursday around 4:00pm to notify parents/guardians about an absence in one or more classes. When possible, please bring any medical, dental, physical therapy, counseling, chiropractic appointment letters stating why your student was seen so we can properly record your students attendance.

How do I register my child for school?
If you’re new to the St. Johns area and would like to enroll your child in our school, simply visit the high school main office to pick up required paperwork or click here to access it. When you come to register your student, the following must be provided for a student to be registered:

  • Your child’s birth certificate

  • Your child’s immunization records

  • Court ordered guardianship (if applicable)

  • Proof of residency (must show physical address within our school boundaries)

Is there a dress code at St. Johns High School?
We expect our students to dress in an appropriate manner at all times. Student dress should not present a health or a safety hazard, violate municipal, county, or state law, or present a potential disruption of the educational process. Please see the dress code section of our student handbook for more information.

Is there a bus service available?
Yes, we provide bus services to our students. We consider riding the bus to be a privilege, and we expect students to follow bus rules and behave appropriately while riding the bus. Visit our Transportation page for more information.

How do I donate my tax credit money to the school?
Your tax credits will go to fund extracurricular activities that we may not otherwise be able to provide our students. Every little bit helps. All you need to do is download and print the form located on the Tax Credit page, fill it out, and bring it to our office.

Can my child bring a cell phone to school?
Cell phones and other portable electronic devices are valuable educational tool. Such devices, if used appropriately, can enhance the learning environment in the classroom. If used for texting, social media, or other inappropriate uses, it can distract students from their learning process, and we do not allow such uses. We strictly prohibit cell phone usage in locker rooms, restrooms, and shower facilities. Teachers may also collect cell phones during testing. Please talk to your child about appropriate use of cellphones while at school. For more information about our policies, please refer to our student handbook.
