A School

October 30, 2023

The Arizona State Board of Education released school grades over the weekend, and SJMS and SJHS both received an "A" rating. Coronado Elementary does not qualify for a school grade, but their proficiency scores are calculated in SJMS' school grade. Overall student proficiency was up across the district.

This is the second year in a row that the middle school and high school have been "A" rated.

School letter grades are calculated utilizing student proficiency and growth indicators, graduation rates, chronic absenteeism numbers, subgroup student improvement figures, college and career readiness indicators, among other things. These grades are a reflection of dedicated staff members who go above and beyond to see individual students among the masses and who work to help each student succeed.  We are so proud of them!
