Good Bye

With the end of the school year, often comes the end of employment for some of our most valued and loved staff.  We are so sorry to see them go, but also excited for their new adventures.  Please join me in thanking those who have worked so diligently and are on their way to new adventures.

Karen Lee:  Mrs. Lee stepped in at the last minute and taught AM kindergarten for us.  She is a phenomenal teacher and we are so grateful for her and her amazing knowledge and experience.

Kamarie Hancock: Mrs. Hancock also stepped up to the plate and assisted Mrs. Lee with teaching AM Kindergarten.  She will be deeply missed and I hope she continues to substituting for our district!

Denise Richins: Mrs. Richins was another retired teacher who stepped in and saved the day in PM Kindergarten.  She did an amazing job and her students love her so much.  She is off to new adventures in South America and we wish her all the best!

Charles Stumbaugh: Mr. Stumbaugh saved the day, primarily on Fridays helping out in PM Kindergarten.  It was a joy to watch him develop as a teacher and keep calm in a room full of 5 year olds.  He did such a great job and we are so grateful for him.

Merlene Shurtz: Mrs. Shurtz joined us in the middle of last year after retiring and stepped up to the plate again this year as a Special Education Teacher.  It was a joy to watch the rapport she built with each of her students.

Lorilyn Burt: Mrs. Burt grew so much as a 1st year teacher teaching 1st grade.  She has such a calm and peaceful demeanor and it was a pleasure to watch how that calm presence affected the students in her classroom.  She as a huge heart and I am excited for her new adventure in the Sedona area as she continues to bless many more children.

Bridget Heap: Mrs. Heap is the type of teacher that every student wants.  She is calm, relaxed, has high expectations, and brings out the best in her students.  I may have shed a tear or two as she turned in her key this week.  She will have so many new adventures in Texas!

Lisa Poe: Mrs. Poe served Coronado Elementary for many years as a Special Education aide.  She is a go get'er and is always willing to do whatever is asked.   She also has a contagious laugh and brightened up the school with her humor.  She stepped out a bit early this year to welcome a new grand baby and we hope she enjoys as much grand-baby time as possible!

Melinda Poe: The other Mrs. Poe has also served Coronado Elementary for several years.  She is another one who is always willing to step in and help out.  She built a great rapport with students and became our Copy Machine Queen, assisting teachers with planning.  We wish her the best of luck!
