Homecoming is next week! Oct. 3rd-7th. Here are the Dress-Up days for Coronado Elementary!!!

Dress Up
Attendance on Friday's is extremely imperative, students are assessed and teachers use that data to plan instruction for the next week. Even though it is an early release day, we still have a lot of instruction, teaching, and assessing going on that day. When students are absent, it makes it difficult for teachers to get them caught up. We love seeing your kids and want them here as much as possible. Thanks for all you do as parents! We appreciate you!

This year at Coronado, we have some pretty amazing High School Student Aides who are doing amazing things: opening milk for kindergartners, making copies for teachers, providing academic support for students one-on-one, and being great role models to the youngest students in the district. We are so grateful for them! If any other high school students would like to join our team next semester, we would love to have you!.

Our 2nd grade did an amazing job singing at the Apache County Fair this morning! Huge shout out to Mrs. Crosby and the 2nd grade teachers for allowing them to perform and bringing them all back safely to the school. Also a huge shout out to Paul and Felisha Ramsey for donating their delicious Hank's Mini Donuts for the kids. If you haven't tried them, stop by the fair. They are so yummy! Also- No school tomorrow. Enjoy the fair.

Thank you so much to the Rangers, who donated 35 pairs of shoes to students in our school. If your kids came home with new shoes today, we had a ton of fun giving them away!

Coronado is amping up security!!! For the safety of our students, all visitors must check in to the front office. No adults should be walking through the hallways unless they have been cleared by the front office first. Once checked in to the office, visitors will receive a visitor badge, which they must wear for the duration of their visit. Security gates have been placed on either side of the main hall way, to ensure visitors or others don't sneak through. If you need to visit with your child for a few minutes, we will call them up to the front office. You can now drop off any cafeteria money to the front office and we will make sure the cafeteria gets it.

Reminder: Lunch is no longer free for all, this includes milk. If your child brings their own lunch and wants milk, they will need to bring money to pay for it. Sorry for any inconvenience. Most families do qualify for free and reduced lunch. Please complete the application that was sent home.

Have you ever wanted to pursue a teaching degree but don't know how while living in St. Johns? We have partnered with Arizona State University to provide opportunities for people to get their teaching degree online for free! That's right: someone could pursue a teaching degree without ever leaving St. Johns. On Wednesday, August 24th at 4pm at the High School Library, we will have a representative from ASU here to provide more details of the program. Please come and bring anyone you know who would be interested. We are excited about this partnership and the opportunity it provides to "grow" our own teachers right her in SJ.

The first day is always a little rough making sure students get to where they need to be, they may be coming home sooner than expected for the next week or so as we train kids which bus to get on. Below are a couple of reminders: * If you change transportation arrangements, please call the office before 2 pm and let us know. *Parent Pick-up/drop-off is on the West side of the school. Please don't pick up in the office. *There are a lot of kindergartners, more than usual, getting picked-up. Please be patient with us as we get them all out the door, they may be later than 11:15.

Want a great way to help out at the schools while making some extra cash? Come join our team as a substitute teacher! Our substitute teachers play a critical role in our district. For those interested, we are holding a Substitute Teacher Information Meeting. When: Tuesday, August 2, from 6-7pm Where: In the High School Library Why: Because we always need great substitute teachers! At this meeting, we will provide an overview of what is required of a substitute teacher, as well as all of the paperwork needed to get started with subbing. A person could leave that meeting well on their way to subbing in our schools. Our subs make up to $120 a day while helping build young people. We would love to have you join us on Tuesday. Bring a friend!

ATTENTION CORONADO PARENTS!!! Each year at the beginning of the school year, you are inundated with forms to complete. Many of these forms are mandatory and required be the state every school year. In an effort to ease your burdens as parents, we are requesting that all parents with children in 1st-3rd grade complete the following digital form. It was also sent through a phone message yesterday. This form is imperative to maintain your student's enrollment status in Coronado Elementary. Please upload a current proof of residency as well, or bring a copy by to the front office. https://forms.gle/mDmP2Aw89LWYLje48
