SJUSD was just identified in this national publication as an "exceptional district" for the work we do to help students become proficient in math by 8th grade. The study focused on school districts around the country that are helping students in math above what would be expected given the economic circumstances in their respective regions. As you can see from the graph, SJUSD was one of only 10 Arizona districts that received this distinction. We are so proud of our students and staff! Check out the full article below. https://www.the74million.org/article/which-school-districts-do-the-best-job-of-teaching-math/?utm_source=The+74+Million+Newsletter&utm_campaign=847ecb6681-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2024_07_08_05_36_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_-a2f2baef9c-176260813

I hope you all enjoyed your prequel! Coronado Thanksgiving Dinner was a huge success. Thank you all for coming! Our amazing cafeteria staff was able to feed over 250 meals! It was so fun to have so many community members come out and eat with our students, especially these three amazing veteran teachers from my childhood (Karma Whiting, Vangie Udall, and Kristine Bell). Just a reminder, there will be no school on Wednesday (11/27)- Friday (11/29) for the real Thanksgiving!

If you are wanting to come eat Thanksgiving with your child, you must stand in line with them. If you want other siblings to join you, you must request them from the office. Please be patient with cafeteria staff. They are working hard and doing their best to serve lots of people and feeding the kids is their priority. Lines will be long, the wait may be long, but our Thanksgiving in the Cafeteria tradition is a great experience that we all love and look forward to! Kinder Lunch: 11:15-11:40 1st Grade Lunch: 11:30-11:50 2nd Grade Lunch: 11: 20- 11:40 3rd Grade Lunch: 11: 50-12:10
