In honor of Veteran's Day, there will be no school on Monday, November 11th. We proudly thank all our Veterans for their service.

Cold Weather
We will only have inside recess during the school day, if the temperature is below 20 degrees F, or if there is heavy snow or rain fall. We do take into account the wind chill when determining the temperature. We have used this guideline in the district for quite some time. If your child does not have a coat there are many coats in the lost and found they can use. Of course kids with health issues can be exempt. Our policy is much like many other schools in the White Mountain areas. Children benefit from vigorous exercise and need to be given the opportunity to play outside whenever possible. Also please remember that the doors of the school are not opened until 7:45 am.

GHOST POST! There has been a Coronado ghost wandering the halls during the month of October! Sightings are rare, but there have been many a scare. Happy Halloween!
Tomorrow is Halloween. Students may wear costumes, however, they are not allowed to wear masks or bring anything that resembles a weapon. Face paint is ok, as long as they come to school wearing it. They may not apply face paint at school.
St Johns USD is actively hiring for certified and classified substitute teachers. Substitutes are essential to school districts and to students’ education. Substitutes have flexibility with their schedules while staying connected with children, schools, and their community and earning additional/supplement income. Please consider applying today with our Substitute Vendor, ESI.
REMINDER: If you have any bussing changes for your student you MUST send a note specifying the change. Please notify the office of any other transportation changes by 2:00 P.M. Monday-Thursday, and by 12:00 P.M. on Friday.
Reminder: TODAY 10/24 and TOMORROW 10/25 are both early release days. Kindergarten will be released at 11:00 A.M., and 1st-3rd will be released at 12:15 P.M. for parent-teacher conferences.
Parent-Teacher Conferences are this week! Please take advantage of this time set aside to visit with your child's teacher and hear about all of the awesome things they are learning. Q1 Report cards will be passed during this time as well.

The kindergarten classes got to go to the Coronado "pumpkin patch" on Friday to pick a pumpkin!
The pumpkins were generously donated by the ADCRR Winslow/Apache Unit. Thank you to Officer Cotney for arranging this donation, and delivering all 65 pumpkins! Coronado Elementary, and our kindergarten students appreciate it & send a big THANK YOU to all that helped make this happen!
