We had a great assembly today featuring "The Masked Readers". Students had a fun time guessing the reader's beneath the masks!! Shoutout to Mrs. Heap (The Parrot), Mrs. Jessop (The Frog), Ms. MacKenzie (The Dinosaur), and Mr. Patterson (The Donkey) for volunteering to read for us! Thank you to all who contributed to our Community Food Drive. I got to deliver all of your donations to Care AZ yesterday and they are so grateful!!! While we didn't reach our goal of 1000 items, we did make it almost 1/2 way with 488 items, so Ms. Bond took 1/2 pie to the face today!!!

Please send your kids with jackets and write their names on the tags!!! Here is our policy in our handbook on cold weather! Cold Weather: We will only have inside recess during the school day, if the temperature is below 20 degrees F, or if there is heavy snow or rain fall. We do take into account the wind chill when determining the temperature. We have used this guideline in the district for quite some time. If your child does not have a coat there are many coats in the lost and found they can use. Of course kids with health issues can be exempt. Our policy is much like many other schools in the White Mountain areas. Children benefit from vigorous exercise and need to be given the opportunity to play outside whenever possible. Also please remember that the doors of the school are not opened until 7:45 am.

We really enjoyed having so many family members come and eat Thanksgiving with us today! I love this tradition so much! We were able to serve over 300 people, just at Coronado! Thank you all for being so patient in the long line! I loved the way parents reminded their children to say please and thank you as they went through the line! A huge shoutout also to our amazing cafeteria staff for cooking such a delicious meal and handling the stress of serving so many people as quickly as possible. I was privileged to help and I am so impressed by their work ethic and all they do day in and day out!

Cafeteria
Tomorrow (11/15) is Thanksgiving in the Cafeteria!!! We love this tradition so much! You are welcome to eat with your student, however you must check in with the office for a visitor pass and please have cash handy to pay for your meal (Exact cash will make the line go quicker). If you plan on eating with your student, you must wait in line with them. If you are getting a "To-Go" order please pick it up between 10:50-11:10. Please be patient and expect long lines!!! Students do have recess after their lunch periods, but are welcome to sit and eat as long as they need to. We will do our best to not disrupt their schedules as much as possible as we do need them back in the classrooms learning! Kinder: 11:15-11:40 2nd Grade: 11:20-11:40 1st Grade: 11:40-12:00 3rd Grade 11:50-12:10
